Wattman Trains & Trams Inc. is the manufacturer of the Wattman Mini Express and Maxi Express electric trackless trains. The company is headquartered and produces its trains in Granby, Quebec, Canada — giving every Wattman train its North American engineering foundation.
Production began in the early 1990s. The current Generation 5 models represent over three decades of continuous development, incorporating feedback from operators across shopping malls, zoos, amusement parks, resorts, and city parks on five continents.
Every train that leaves the Granby facility is covered by a 24-month factory warranty and independently certified by TÜV to EN 13814:2019 Parts 1, 2, and 3 — the full European standard for amusement ride design, manufacture, and operation. That certification also conforms to ASTM F2291 and ASTM F1193, the U.S. standards referenced by 44 states for commercial amusement ride compliance.
The current Mini Express and Maxi Express are the 5th generation of the Wattman platform. The regenerative AC drive system eliminates mechanical brakes, reduces maintenance requirements, and delivers a smoother driving experience. The e-Pedal controller is the result of over 30 years of refinement in commercial daily-use environments.
Wattman Trains & Trams Inc. does not self-certify its products. Every model is independently reviewed and certified by TÜV Nederland, part of the TÜV NORD GROUP. Their engineers conduct structural calculations, load analysis, and component verification before issuing a certificate. That certificate is included with every train delivered to any operator worldwide.
Unlike most electric trackless trains sold in the U.S. and international markets, Wattman trains are not manufactured in China. Every train is produced in Granby, Quebec, Canada — with full traceability of components, materials, and manufacturing records. This production foundation supports the technical file that every operator receives at delivery.
