Up to 32 passengers per ride. 14 hours on a single charge. ASTM certified for U.S. venues. The Maxi Express runs the day you need it to run.
The Maxi Express is a high-capacity electric trackless train built for U.S. venues that run the ride all day, every day. No tracks. No fuel. No infrastructure investment. Guests board at a fixed station, complete a loop through your property, and come back ready to go again.
Wattman has delivered trackless trains to American operators for over 30 years. The Maxi Express is the preferred choice when passenger volume per ride cycle directly determines what the operation earns that day.
At 42 inches wide and 74 inches tall, Maxi Express wagons carry adults comfortably alongside families. Each wagon is load-rated at 850 lb. That means fewer empty seats, fuller rides, and a higher return per operating hour.
Every Maxi Express is independently certified to ASTM F2291 and ASTM F1193. It ships with a 24-month factory warranty, extendable to 48 months through the Assured Value Program. $0 down financing is available for qualified U.S. operators.
“Wattman was the best choice for Menominee Park. It is easier to maintain, it shows off the whole park, and it keeps alive a tradition our community fought to save.”
“Wattman offered a more professional setup and better long-term value that you won't be able to find in any other trackless train manufacturer.”
“If you want to own a commercial piece of equipment and have decided on the trackless train business. The Wattman Train is it.”
“The story is not making money on the train. The story is getting people into your store to buy things. Any place where we added an hour to the train schedule, our sales in the store increased on average about 20%.”
“what really put us over the edge was when we realized that the last car, the caboose, will accommodate wheelchairs.”
“The Rolls Royce of trackless trains. Craftsmanship and workmanship are excellent. Wattman went above and beyond to resolve an issue and gave us full confidence they stand behind their products.”
Battery-powered, trackless, and built for high-capacity continuous operation. This is what a Wattman Maxi Express looks like at work.

Every Maxi Express is built to your venue’s specifications. To make the selection process straightforward, we offer three popular configurations that cover most U.S. operator needs. Each Edition includes a proven standard package and can be further customized with the options your operation requires.
Choose the Edition that fits your capacity goals. All three share the same reliable electric drive system, front camera, and water distribution system. The difference is in passenger capacity and the level of guest experience you want to deliver.
The entry-level configuration for operators who want a reliable, high-capacity train ready to generate return from day one. Includes locomotive, two passenger wagons, and caboose.
Adds a third passenger wagon for higher capacity and Wheels in Motion for an enhanced visual experience. The most popular configuration among U.S. park and zoo operators.
The complete guest experience package. Adds the Audio Package with speakers in every wagon, Microphone on Gooseneck, and Smoke Machine. Built for operators who want maximum guest impact and a premium attraction feel.

Seasonal and deferred payment options are available for venues with variable revenue cycles. Whether this is your first train or an expansion, the financing team will find a structure that works.
Every Wattman Maxi Express is designed and manufactured to ASTM F2291 and ASTM F1193 — the U.S. standards for amusement ride design, quality, and construction, independently certified by TÜV Nederland. Full documentation is included with every train as standard.
Operating a trackless train with paying guests is a legal responsibility. In 44 U.S. states this triggers mandatory requirements for insurance, annual inspections, and operating permits. Insurers do not issue coverage on uncertified equipment — and many operators only discover this when it is too late.
Not all trains sold into the U.S. market carry the right certifications. CE alone does not satisfy U.S. requirements. Before investing in any train, verify that ASTM certification was issued by a recognized third-party body — not self-declared by the manufacturer.
Both models run on the same proven locomotive and electric drive system. The difference is in the wagons. Choose based on your venue size and the capacity you need per ride cycle.

The Maxi Express Essential Edition carries up to 18 adults and children across two passenger wagons and a caboose. The Classic and Signature Editions add a third passenger wagon, bringing total capacity to approximately 24 adults and children per ride cycle. For children-only operations, capacity reaches up to 32 in the 4-wagon configuration.
No track is required. The Maxi Express is a fully trackless train that operates on standard paved surfaces including asphalt, concrete, and smooth pavement. A turning radius of approximately 21 feet makes it suitable for outdoor parks, resort grounds, and large venue circuits.
The Maxi Express runs on a 48-volt electric drive system. Under normal operating conditions, a full charge supports up to 14 hours of operation in a 3-wagon configuration. Exact runtime depends on route length, gradient, and passenger load.
For more demanding operations, an optional Lithium-Ion battery pack is available. This upgrade delivers extended runtime and faster recharge cycles, making it the preferred choice for operators running multiple daily shifts or longer route circuits.
Every Wattman Maxi Express is independently certified to ASTM F2291 and F1193 — the standards required for U.S. amusement ride operations. Full certification documentation is provided with every train to support your local permitting process. The Maxi Express also includes a 24-month factory warranty, extendable to 48 months through the Assured Value Program.
Yes. The Maxi Express is built for both indoor and outdoor operation. For operators in challenging climates, weatherproofing options are available including roll-up windows on all wagons and a windshield on the locomotive. These options allow continuous outdoor operation in rain, wind, and cold conditions.
For year-round outdoor operation, the train should be stored overnight in a dry and well-ventilated space. This protects the electrical system, wood structure, and exterior finish and extends the operational life of the train.
